Apr. 9th 2008, New member!

2008/04/10 12:00
Hello! This is gussan.

Are you fine?

Participant of today's club activities are Mami-chan, Yunn♪, ko kaze and me.

ko kaze is new face and he studied English in Australia.

Mami-chan is in charge of this time.

The theme is useful sentences for overseas scene, because Yunn♪ is going to go on a homestay visit to Canada.

Now this is first content. Phrases often used in everyday conversation.

After you!

I'm home!

Welcome home!

Let me see.

It's over my head.

It's on the tip of my tongue.

The second! Frequently asked questions and answers.

Q: Are you Japanese? A: Yes, I am.

Q: You aren't Korean, are you? A: No, I aren't.

Q: Do you like sushi? A: Yes, I do.

Q: You don't like sushi? A: Yes, I do.

Q: Do you mind if I borrow your pen? A: Not at all. / No, I don't.

The third! Not so good phrases.

I'm sick and tired of it!

Say something!

It's none of your business!

The fourth! convenient word.

for cofee or tea: strong <==> weak

for soup: rich, thick <==> bland

(そういえば、スープは eat [×drink] soup with a spoon なんですね)

And last! Can you understand these sentence?

This music really rules.

He is a wicked baseball player.

We had radical time.

Don't you have any wheels?

That test? Oh, I blew it twice.

Just chill out for a minute.

I'd kill for a hamburger.

I'm maxed out. Let's go home!

This computer is history.

You won? Sweet!

Here is a smake-free section.

(〜-freeはよく勘違いしますね。でもよく考えれば。 ex. duty-free/point-free)

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

See you next meeting on 23th Apr.
